Tervetuloa Oodin Maijansaliin Alakulttuuripäivänä 2.9. kello 12-14. Syksyllä ilmestyvä muistoteos PERTTU HÄKKINEN – VALONKANTAJA on väkevä ja moniääninen katsaus Perttu Häkkisen (1979–2018) elämään, uraan, vaiheisiin ja persoonaan. Kirjasta ovat keskustelemassa ryhmän kirjoittaja ja -toimituskuntaa.
Kirjassa oman tulkintansa Pertusta ja hänen Suuren Työnsä kirjavista vaiheista esittävät monet julkisuudesta ja alakulttuurista tunnetut hahmot aina Palefacesta Maria Veitolaan, Tauski Peltosesta Edu Kehäkettuseen ja Jouko Pihosta Taavi Kassilaan, unohtamatta hänen perheenjäseniään, kollegoitaan ja monenkirjavia ystäviään.
Elämänjanoinen kummallisuuksien kartoittaja, rajoja rikkova muusikko, maailmojen yhdistäjä. Filosofian maisteri, palkittu toimittaja ja vastuuntuntoinen perheenisä, joka rakasti resuisia lähiöjuottoloita, eksentrisiä alakulttuurijuhlia ja ihmispsyyken varjopuolia.
Perttu Häkkinen jätti jälkeensä yhden ihmisen tarpeiksi käsittämättömän laajan ja monivivahteisen elämäntyön paitsi muusikkona Imatran Voima- ja Tähtiportti-yhtyeissä, myös tutkivana journalistina.

Приглашаем тебя, 10-14 летний подросток, если ты любишь читать и общаться на разные темы. Книжный клуб бесплатный и к нему не нужно готовиться заранее.
На встрече мы все вместе читаем/слушаем короткий текст на русском языке, а потом разговариваем об этом тексте и просто о жизни. Каждый участник имеет право высказать то, что он думает, или просто послушать других, думая о своём.
В осеннем сезоне 2023 встречи книжного клуба проходят три раза в месяц по субботам с 12 до 13:30.

Welcome to the Espoo City Library Ukulele Group 7- to 12-year-old. In the Ukulele Group we learn basic of the music theory and playing an ukulele. We practice how to play melody and harmony with well-known songs. Teaching is student-centered. The Library has ukuleles that can be borrowed for the lesson.

Drawing Time is about having fun while drawing. Together we will learn some drawing tricks and magic. The drawing sessions are hosted by Vaidas, a long time illustrator and concept artist for film and games. He comes with lived experience and some fun stories from inside the industry. With strong passion for teaching and sharing his knowledge Vaidas wishes to get you interested in expressing yourself with the simple tools like pens and paper. Everything needed for the classes will be provided by the library. Let’s draw together!

Come and practice reading with library´s reading dog!
During a 15-minute reading session, you can read aloud to the dog. Reading dog listens patiently without criticism or interruptions. Dog´s trainer will be present at the session.

Aliina will once again be arriving at the library starting from September 6th, 2023!
Every other Wednesday, a professional reading dog trained by the Finnish Kennel Club, a Jack Russell Terrier named Aliina, along with her owner Helena, will be visiting Martinlaakso Library.
Anyone can come and read library books or even their own books to the reading dog. The dog encourages reading without judgment, criticism of mistakes, slowness, or hesitation. The presence of the dog relaxes the reader and alleviates stress. Reading with a dog is part of animal-assisted activities and is based on voluntarism.
Aliina will be here to listen to your reading every other Wednesday from September 6th, 2023, to November 29th, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Each reader is allocated 15 minutes, and you can reserve a slot at the library's customer service desk or by calling: 043 825 0909.
The reading dog is intended for everyone seeking confidence in their reading.

Hundens närvaro får läsaren att slappna av och lindrar stress. Läsning med en hund är en del av djurassisterad verksamhet och bygger på frivillighet.
Aliina kommer att lyssna på er läsning varannan onsdag från den 6 september 2023 till den 29 november 2023 kl. 17.00-19.00.
Varje läsare har 15 minuter tid och du kan boka en tid vid bibliotekets kundtjänst eller genom att ringa: 043 825 0909.
Läshunden är avsedd för alla som söker självförtroende i sin läsning.
