Anna Tommolan tietokirja (Atena 2020) Yöllinen elämämme vie tutkimusretkelle unien maailmaan niin viimeisimmän unitutkimuksen kuin yksilöllisten kokemusten kautta. Unten mailla vietetään keskimäärin kolmannes vuorokaudesta, mutta unennäöstä tiedetään yllättävän vähän. Mitä aivoissa unen aikana tapahtuu? Miksi unista ei kannata etsiä yleispätevää symboliikkaa? Voisiko unia opetella hallitsemaan?

YTM Anna Tommola (s. 1975) on helsinkiläinen vapaa toimittaja ja kirjailija. Hän on kirjoittanut Yöllinen elämämme -teoksen lisäksi tietokirjan Rauhoita ja rohkaise – apua lapsen stressitilanteisiin yhdessä Sanna Häkkilän kanssa. Lisäksi häneltä on ilmestynyt novellikokoelma Seitsemäs käsiala ja muita kertomuksia, romaani Haamusärky ja lastenkirja Säpsy uhmaa kohtaloa.

Tommolaa haastattelee informaatikko Sinivuokko Koivula Myllypuron ja Kontulan kirjastoista.

Tervetuloa kirjastoon tänä pimeänä marraskuun lopun iltana. Kontulan kirjaston lukusali on tunnelmavalaistu ja tarjolla on kuumaa glögiä ja teetä.

Kirjastossa on esillä myös teemaan sopiva kirjanäyttely, josta voit lainata mukaan uni- ja yöaiheisia teoksia.

Nukketeatteri PikkuKulkuri saapuu Puistolan kirjastoon torstaina 30.11. klo 18.

Tuiki joulupuu on Gaby Hansenin ja Christine Leesonin lasten kuvakirjaan pohjautuva nukketeatteriesitys. Sen teemana on sinnikkyys ja omaan tekemiseen uskominen. Avoimet kirjoittajatreffit on kaikille avoin kirjoittamisen työpaja, jossa kirjoitetaan lyhyitä kirjoituksia opettajan tehtävien mukaan.

Kirjoitetaan, luetaan ääneen tekstejä toisille ja jaetaan yhdessä kannustavaa palautetta. Työpajassa saat tukea ja ideoita kirjoitusharrastukseesi, opit muokkaamaan havaintoja ja tuntemuksia tekstiksi: minuuttinovelleiksi, runoiksi, kertomuksiksi...

Voit tuoda mukanasi yhden lyhyen tekstin, jonka haluat lukea toisille ääneen, mutta työpajan pääpaino on kuitenkin yhteisissä kirjoitusharjoituksissa.

Voit osallistua niin moneen Avointen kirjoittajatreffien työpajaan kuin sinulle sopii.

Tarvitsetko apua koulutehtävissä?

LäksyHelpissä Punaisen Ristin vapaaehtoiset ohjaajat auttavat lapsia, nuoria ja aikuisia läksyjen teossa. Toiminta on tarkoitettu peruskoulun ja toisen asteen oppilaille. Toiminta on maksutonta ja kaikille avointa. Tervetuloa!

LäksyHelppi on torstaisin Keskustakirjasto Oodissa. Syksyn ensimmäinen Läksyhelppi 17.8. järjestetään poikkeuksellisesti 3.krs lastenalueen yläparvella.

kello 17.45–18.30 Sellon kirjaston Jaminurkassa

Tervetuloa mukaan Espoon kaupunginkirjaston tarjoamaan 7–12-vuotiaiden ukuleleryhmään. Tunneilla on tarkoitus tutustua musiikkiin monipuolisesti. Harjoittelemme sointujen, sekä melodian soittamista kappaleiden avulla. Lisäksi teemme musiikin hahmottamista ja ryhmäytymistä tukevia harjoituksia leikkimällä ja piirtämällä. Opetus on oppilaslähtöistä. Kirjastolla on runsaasti ukuleleja, joita voi lainata tunnin ajaksi.

Vallilan kirjaston satutuokioita pidetään 7.9. alkaen joka toinen torstai klo 18.00. Huom! Ei 2.11.
Satutuokiolle osallistutaan yhdessä oman aikuisen kanssa. Satutuokiot sopivat parhaiten yli 3-vuotiaille, mutta nuoremmatkin voivat toki käydä kokeilemassa. Satuhetken pituus on noin 30 minuuttia.

Käytössä on PlayStation 5 ja valikoima konsolipelejä. Pelituokioon tarvitsee oman, voimassa olevan kirjastokortin, jota vastaan ohjain lainataan. Pelaamaan pääsee enintään 4 pelaajaa samaan aikaan, peliaikaa on 30 minuuttia. Pelattavat pelit ovat ikärajoiltaan PEGI 3 ja PEGI 7. Vuoroa odotellessasi voit pelata vaikka lauta -tai korttipelejä.

Kallion kielikahvila on suomen kielen keskustelupiiri joka torstai klo 17-18 kirjaston ryhmätila Otsossa. Kirjaston osoite on Viides linja 11, 00530 Helsinki.

Suomen kielen taitosi ei tarvitse olla sujuvaa, mutta toivomme, että osaat jo hiukan ennestään. Vietämme rennosti aikaa yhdessä jutellen, joten jännittää ei tarvitse.

We have a Finnish discussion group in Kallio Library. The meetings are every Thursday at 5 pm.
Come and have a cup of coffee or tea and chat a little in Finnish.

It’s OK if you know only little Finnish. Our goal is to have a nice time and maybe even learn a bit on the way.

Tervetuloa mukaan Espoon kaupunginkirjaston ukulelen alkeiden jatkoryhmään. Soitamme tuttuja, lähinnä suomen-, englanninkielisiä lauluja. Välillä haastamme myös itseämme soittamalla melodioita ja opettamalla uusia sointuja ja komppeja. Ryhmässä rentous, välitön tunnelma ja yhteisöllisyys ovat tärkeitä asioita. Olet aina tervetullut mukaan! Kirjastolla on myös ukuleleja joita voit lainata tunnin ajaksi.
