LäksyHelpissä Punaisen Ristin vapaaehtoiset ohjaajat auttavat lapsia, nuoria ja aikuisia läksyjen teossa. Toiminta on tarkoitettu peruskoulun ja toisen asteen oppilaille. Toiminta on maksutonta ja kaikille avointa. Tervetuloa!

Tervetuloa mukaan Espoon kaupunginkirjaston tarjoamaan 7–12-vuotiaiden ukuleleryhmään. Tunneilla on tarkoitus tutustua musiikkiin monipuolisesti. Harjoittelemme sointujen, sekä melodian soittamista kappaleiden avulla. Lisäksi teemme musiikin hahmottamista ja ryhmäytymistä tukevia harjoituksia leikkimällä ja piirtämällä. Opetus on oppilaslähtöistä. Kirjastolla on runsaasti ukuleleja, joita voi lainata tunnin ajaksi.

Luemme Alexander Dumasin kirjan Kamelianainen vuodelta 1848. Kirjasta on tehty näytelmiä, filmejä ja Giuseppe Verdi oopperan La Traviata. Se nähdään seuraavan kerran Suomessa maaliskuussa 2024 Tampereen Oopperan tuotantona.

19.10. klo 17-18:30
Vuorossa Abbe Prevostin (jesuiittamunkki) autofiktio Manon Lescaut vuodelta 1731. Kirja meinasi jäädä sensuurin hampaisiin, tarina on intohimoromaanien esikuva, nuori aatelismies jää huikentelevaisen naisen pauloihin ja menettää moraalinsa ja itsekunnioituksensa. Kirjasta on sävelletty peräti kaksi oopperaa Jules Massenet 1884 ja Giacomo Puccini 1893. Molemmat mestariteoksia. (Dumasin Kamelianaisessa viitataan useampaan otteeseen Manon Lescautiin)

16.11. klo 17-18:30
Juhani Ahon Juha vuodelta 1911. Aarre Merikanto sävelsi oopperan 1922 mutta se sai kantaesityksensä vasta 1963. Leevi Madetoja sävelsi myös oopperan samaan Aino Ackten tekemään librettoon. Elämään on jäänyt Merikannon ooppera.

14.12. klo 17-18:30
Aleksander Pushkinin Patarouva vuodelta 1834. Pjotr Tsaikovskin ooppera Patarouva kantaesitettiin Pietarissa 1890. Säveltäjä oli luovassa vimmassa ja ooppera valmistui 2 kuukaudessa Firenzessä. Veli Modest teki libreton ja siinä painotetaan rakkaussuhdetta kun taas Pushkin keskittyy uhkapeliin.

Vallilan kirjaston satutuokioita pidetään 7.9. alkaen joka toinen torstai klo 18.00. Huom! Ei 2.11.
Satutuokiolle osallistutaan yhdessä oman aikuisen kanssa. Satutuokiot sopivat parhaiten yli 3-vuotiaille, mutta nuoremmatkin voivat toki käydä kokeilemassa. Satuhetken pituus on noin 30 minuuttia.


Päiväkotiryhmät voivat tiedustella aamusatutuntiaikoja kirjastolta.

50 rusinaa Tarton Mikalta (Lector Kustannus) on kirjailijan henkilökohtainen rakkaudentunnustus Virolle, virolaisille runoilijoille ja kulttuurille. Mika Keränen esittelee kirjassa runoja 50 runoilijalta, joista osa on hänen ystäviään ja osa runoilijoita, joiden tekstit ovat muuten puhutelleet Viron kirjallisuusmaastossa vaeltavaa suomentajaa.

Mika Keränen on Tartossa asuva viroksi, suomeksi ja omituisella itäsuomalaisella kotimurteellaan kirjoittava pitkän linjan sanaseppo. Hänet tunnetaan Virossa parhaiten salaseura Divarista, jonka seikkailuja on suomennettu Kaisu Lahikaisen toimesta kuusi osaa.

Keränen itse kertoo 50 rusinaa Tarton Mikalta -kirjaan suomentamistaan runoista: \"Jokainen kirjan runo ja runoilija on yhtä merkittävä minulle, en voi nostaa yhtään erikseen esille. Yhdessä ne muodostavat kavalkadin, joka on lohduttanut minua elon taipaleellani. Joku sanoi joskus, että taiteen merkitys on ennen kaikkea lohduttaa. Uskon niin.\"

Keskustakirjasto Oodin tilaisuudessa esiintyy Mika Keräsen lisäksi joukko hänen teoksensa 50 rusinaa Tarton Mikalta runoilijoita.

Tervetuloa Vantaan Jazzyhdistyksen lukupiiriin! Lukupiiri kokoontuu Tikkurilan kirjaston kokoushuone Voimalassa kerran kuussa torstaisin. Vuoden 2023 kokoontumiskerrat ovat 19.1., 16.2., 16.3., 13.4., 11.5., 21.9., 19.10., 16.11. ja 14.12.2023 klo 16.00-18.00.

Lukupiirissä keskustellaan lukupiiriläisten lukemasta kirjallisuudesta. Jokainen osallistuja voi kertoa kokemuksiaan lähiaikoina lukemistaan kirjoista.

Mikä Vantaan Jazzyhdistys?

Vantaan Jazzyhdistys on reilut 20 vuotta toiminut kulttuuriyhdistys. Tärkein tehtävämme on järjestää kerran kuussa jazzkonsertti kulttuuritehdas Vernissassa. Lisäksi järjestämme lukupiirin sekä teatteri- ja kulttuuriretkiä säännöllisesti.

Kello 16.30-17.30 Sellon kirjaston Jaminurkassa

Tervetuloa mukaan Espoon kaupunginkirjaston ukulelen alkeiden jatkoryhmään. Soitamme tuttuja, lähinnä suomen-, englanninkielisiä lauluja. Välillä haastamme myös itseämme soittamalla melodioita ja opettamalla uusia sointuja ja komppeja. Ryhmässä rentous, välitön tunnelma ja yhteisöllisyys ovat tärkeitä asioita. Olet aina tervetullut mukaan! Kirjastolla on myös ukuleleja joita voit lainata tunnin ajaksi.
