The most important thing is the interaction between the adult and the child. Participants are free to take part in any way that is most comfortable to them, even if it means just watching and listening.
The group is open to everybody regardless of their musical background or language skills. The length of the session is approximately 30 minutes. The recommended age of the children is from 3 to 18 months.
Please note that Music for babies will not be organized on 5th of October and on 26th of October.

Семейные посиделки организуют встречи в библиотеке Sello каждую вторую среду с 18:00 до 20:00. Мероприятие проводится на русском языке. Встречи открыты для всех желающих. Участие бесплатно.

Come and practice reading with library´s reading dog!
During a 15-minute reading session, you can read aloud to the dog. Reading dog listens patiently without criticism or interruptions. Dog´s trainer will be present at the session.

Ты только учишься читать или испытываешь трудности при чтении? Приходи в библиотеку почитать специально обученной собаке. Четвероногий друг – терпеливый и благодарный слушатель, а чтение собаке успокаивает и расслабляет.
Общение с собакой-слушателем длится 15 минут. Во время чтения читающий остается наедине с собакой и ее инструктором. Задача инструктора – наблюдать со стороны, не вмешиваясь в сам процесс.
Собака-слушатель по кличке Nella ждет тебя в библиотеке Мунккиниеми по средам: 14.6, 16.8, 30.8, 20.9, 18.10, 1.11, 22.11 и во вторник 12.12 с 18.00-19.05. Заказать время можно на стойке обслуживания или позвонив по телефону 09-31085033.

Every other Wednesday, a professional reading dog trained by the Finnish Kennel Club, a Jack Russell Terrier named Aliina, along with her owner Helena, will be visiting Martinlaakso Library.
Anyone can come and read library books or even their own books to the reading dog. The dog encourages reading without judgment, criticism of mistakes, slowness, or hesitation. The presence of the dog relaxes the reader and alleviates stress. Reading with a dog is part of animal-assisted activities and is based on voluntarism.
Aliina will be here to listen to your reading every other Wednesday from September 6th, 2023, to November 29th, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Each reader is allocated 15 minutes, and you can reserve a slot at the library's customer service desk or by calling: 043 825 0909.
The reading dog is intended for everyone seeking confidence in their reading.

Varannan onsdag kommer en professionell läshund, tränad av den finska Kennelklubben, att besöka Mårtensdals bibliotek. Aliina är en Jack Russell Terrier och besöker biblioteket tillsammans med sin ägare Helena.
Alla kan komma och läsa bibliotekets böcker eller till och med sina egna böcker för läshunden. Hunden inspirerar till läsning. Hunden dömer inte, kritiserar inte misstag, långsamhet eller osäkerhet. Hundens närvaro får läsaren att slappna av och lindrar stress. Läsning med en hund är en del av djurassisterad verksamhet och bygger på frivillighet.
Aliina kommer att lyssna på er läsning varannan onsdag från den 6 september 2023 till den 29 november 2023 kl. 17.00-19.00.

The Wednesday Club, Keskiviikkokerho, is open to all children aged 7-12 who wish to participate in joint activities in the library after school. The club’s program varies weekly from arts and crafts to playing card or board games. The club gathers around the large table in the children's area of Vuosaari library every Wednesday from 3 to 4 p.m. The table seats about 12 children at a time. No enrolment in advance is needed.
The club instructors speak mainly Finnish, but children with little or no skills in Finnish language are welcome to join the club nonetheless. See you at the library!

Finnish native speakers help you practice communicating in Finnish. We read texts, discuss different topics and practice writing every time. It's not necessary to register in advance, you can just show up. The meetings are held on Wednesdays 6.9. - 13.12. in Blue Room. On 18.10. and 6.12. we are on holidays.
