Språkcafé Svea är en svensk diskussionsgrupp, som samlas på Böle bibliotek S-point varje onsdag 16.8. - 13.12.2023 kl 13-14.

Kan du redan prata svenska, men upplever du att det saknas möjligheter för praktisk användning av språket? Då kan vårt språkcafé hjälpa dig. På Språkcaféet Svea kan du öva svenskan i din egen takt tillsammans med andra deltagare och med ledaren. Ni kommer att bestämma själva vad ni vill prata om. Aarne Junkkari leder diskussionen.

Are you looking for a place to practice speaking Finnish? Are the Finns you meet just too shy to chat with you? This is a right place for you!

Finnish native speakers help you practice communicating in Finnish. We read texts and discuss different topics every time. It's not necessary to register in advance, you can just show up. Cafes are held on Tuesdays 29.8. - 12.12. at 18:00 - 19:30 in Blue Room, but 17.10. is canceled. We' ll continue 9.1.2024.

Digital guidance in Itäkeskus Library on Tuesdays 29.8.-5.12.2023 at 16.00-18.30. You can get help with using your Windows computer, tablet and smartphone, internet and e-mail, as well assistance filling and sending electronic forms to agencies (e.g. Kela, TE office). Free admission, no enrolment.

Welcome to Language Café Suoma!

Pasila Library's language café Suoma is a discussion group in Finnish that meets every Monday and Wednesday at 14-16 at Pasila Library (14.8. - 13.12.2023), and on Skype as e-Ekstra every Thursday at 17-19.

Your Finnish language skills do not have to be fluent, but we hope that you already know a little. We spend a relaxed time talking together. There's no need to be nervous - feel free to come along! Also bring your friend with you!

We usually have several level groups from beginners to more skilled ones.

Välkommen till språkcafé Suoma!

Böle bibliotekets språkcafé Suoma är en diskussionsgrupp på finska som samlas varje måndag och onsdag kl. 14-16 (14.8. - 13.12.2023) samt som e-Ekstra på nätet varje torsdag kl.17-19 via Skype.

Dina finska språkkunskaper behöver inte vara flytande, men vi hoppas att du redan kan lite. Vi tillbringar en avslappnad tid med att prata tillsammans. Du behöver inte vara nervös – bara kom! Ta också din vän med dig! Vi brukar ha flera nivågrupper från nybörjare till mer skickliga.

We look forward to seeing you every Friday, from 25 August, from 4.30 to 5.30 pm, in the green room of the children's section of the Pasila Library.

All families are welcome. PICNIC is made by all of us, so come along and bring something to share!

Les esperamos todos los viernes, a partir del 25 de agosto, de 4.30 a 5.30 pm, en la sala verde de la sección infantil de la Biblioteca de Pasila.

Sean bienvenidas todas las familias. PICNIC lo hacemos entre todos, así que anímate y ¡trae algo para compartir!

BOOKPERFORMANCE is a literary and artistic concept as well as a world-view.

Here are the papers of a book, metaphorically leaves of a tree and individuals of a society. They got collectively painted during the BOOKPERFORMANCE event that took place on the 27th May 2023, at OODI.

Thanks to the energy and the synergy that was created all together within a linguistic and cultural diversity in the happening, a down-to-earth contribution about books and trees thus knowledge and nature was planted into the collective consciousness. The co-created paintings are sold and with the revenue trees are planted for the life on Earth.

You are welcome to see the documentation of this event which is showcased as a digital exhibition at OODI, at any time during 2 weeks, between 21st August and 3rd September.

Jätkäsaari handicraft evenings take place every other Wednesday in Jätkäsaari library. Crab your knitting, crocheting or any other craft you are doing with you and come to enjoy doing handicrafts together! In addition to sharing a nice hobby you can get tips and ideas. You can come every time or whenever you have time.

Handicrafters of all ages and of all skill levels can join. You are welcome to join exactly as you are. Just bring a handicraft with you that you can work on. It’s also possible to get help from the organiser of the evenings for basic techniques. Tea and small snacks are also provided. See you in the library!

Shakkiopetusta Lauttasaaressa

Kaikenikäiset shakista kiinnostuneet ovat tervetulleita oppimaan shakin alkeita Lauttasaaren kirjastoon. Maksuton opetus (suomeksi ja englanniksi) järjestetään monitoimitilassa keskiviikkoisin klo 17–20.

Opetus on vapaamuotoista:

- Mukaan voi tulla mihin aikaan tahansa.
- Opastamme shakin sääntöihin ja pelin eri osa-alueisiin (avaukset, taktiikka, strategia, loppupeli, kilpapelaaminen).
- Pelailemme ilman shakkikelloa.
- Neuvottelupeleissä etsimme yhdessä ääneen analysoimalla peliaseman vahvuudet, heikkoudet, mahdollisuudet ja uhat.
- Ratkomme taktisia pulmia ja loppupelitehtäviä.
- Annamme vinkkejä shakin itseopiskeluun.

Tapahtuman järjestää Lauttasaaren suomalainen shakkikerho.
