Приглашаем тебя, 10-14 летний подросток, если ты любишь читать и общаться на разные темы. Книжный клуб бесплатный и к нему не нужно готовиться заранее.
На встрече мы все вместе читаем/слушаем короткий текст на русском языке, а потом разговариваем об этом тексте и просто о жизни. Каждый участник имеет право высказать то, что он думает, или просто послушать других, думая о своём.
В осеннем сезоне 2023 встречи книжного клуба проходят три раза в месяц по субботам с 12 до 13:30.

Kuolleiden päivä saapuu Oodiin hauskan ohjelman kera! Voitte perehtyä tähän meksikolaiseen ja keskiamerikkalaiseen perinteeseen yhdessä koko perheen kanssa. Kuolleiden päivä on maailmanlaajuisesti tunnettu juhla, jonka opetus- ja kulttuuriministeriö on tunnustanut vuonna 2023 aineettomana kulttuuriperintönä. Se on ollut osana Unescon aineetonta maailmanperintöä vuodesta 2003 lähtien.
Tämän esi-isien juhlan aikana, jota vietetään tyypillisesti 1.–2. marraskuuta, perheet pystyttivät upeita alttareita kuolleiden läheistensä muistoksi. Tämä on erityinen tapa kunnioittaa heitä perheen ja ystävien ympäröimänä.

Welcome to Día de Muertos - Family Day! A day for the whole family to celebrate with lots of activities for children of all ages.
In its second edition, the Day of the Dead comes to Oodi with a fun program to explore this Mexican and Central-American tradition as a family. A globally renowned celebration, recognized by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Finland in 2023 as Intangible Cultural Heritage and part of UNESCO's intangible world heritage since 2003.
During this ancestral festivity, typically celebrated between November 1st and 2nd, families set up spectacular Altars in memory of their loved ones, who have passed away. It’s a special day to honor them, while surrounded by family and friends.

Fastholman huvila rakennettiin 1910. Seutu oli tuolloin vauraan helsinkiläisen eliitin
suosimaa virkistysaluetta. Fastholman huvila tyhjennettiin aktivisteista ja purettiin
poliisivalvonnassa vastoin kaupunkisuunnittelun ja kiinteistötoimen johdon ohjetta
alkuvuodesta 2015. Alueelle johtaa edelleen umpeen kasvanut katulyhdyin valaistu
polku. Metsässä on pimeää ja nokkosia. Poimin sinulle omenan. Puut voivat
kuulemma kasvaa jopa 200 vuotta vanhoiksi. Muistatko kun me varastettiin yliopiston
juhlista skumppaa ja vietiin se mielenosoittajille, jotka oli leiriintyny’ koulun aulaan?
Mä kirjotin sillon siitä, kuinka kun taidemuseot synty ja eliitin yksityiskokoelmia
muutti porvarillisista kodeista yhteisen alueelle niin se fokalisointi niiden siinä
narratiivissa muuttu. »Fokalisointi vai foucaulisointi?» Niin siis sehän on se vitsi siinä,
eikö siinä oo kyse kans’ siis subjektifikaatiosta jos aattelee, ett’ ne muodosti jonkun
tarinan ne teokset ja sit niillä on uus’ kollektiivinen narratiivi siellä yhteisen alueella?

hapokkailta.
The Fastholma Villa was built in 1910. The area was then a popular recreation ground
for the rich elite of Helsinki. The Fastholma Villa was emptied of activists and
dismantled under police surveillance against the recommendation of the head of city
planning and real estate in 2015. An overgrown path, lit with streetlights, still lead to
the area. In the woods it’s dark and there are nettles. I pick you an apple. The trees can
grow even a two hundred years old I’ve heard. Do you remember when we stole
sparkling wine from that university party and gave it to the demonstrators who had
made a camp into the school foyer? At that time, I was writing about how, you know,
when the art museums were born and all these private collections of the elite were
moving from the bourgeois home to the area of the common, how the focalization
changed in their narrative. “The focalization or the foucaulization?” Yeah that’s the
joke of it, isn’t it not also about subjectification if you think that they formed some
story, those works and and then they have a new collective narrative in the area of the
common? “I don’t understand what you are talking about. Come here.” The apples

ILKKA II
Ilkka II on Vaasalaislähtöinen kuvataiteilija. Abstrakteissa teoksissa on sekä orgaanista värien sekoittumista, että harkittua ja hallittua kuvioiden luontia.
Taiteen tekemiseen on inspiraatiota tuoneet useat vuodet taiteen parissa, kiertely Euroopan taidemuseoissa ja gallerioissa, oppaana ja valvojana työskentely taidemuseoissa, tuottajana toimiminen muraalimaalauksissa, sekä taidenäyttelyiden järjestäminen.
Viime vuodet Ilkka II:n taidetta on ollut esillä useissa näyttelyissä ympäri Suomea sekä Ruotsissa.

ILKKA II
Ilkka II is a visual artist from Vaasa. The abstract works have both an organic mixing of colors and a well-thought-out and controlled creation of patterns.
Several years of working in art, touring European art museums and galleries, working as a guide and supervisor in art museums, working as a producer in mural paintings, and organizing art exhibitions have brought inspiration to making art.
In recent years, Ilkka II's art has been exhibited in several exhibitions around Finland and in Sweden.

Taiteilija on kiinnostunut työskentelyssään itse maalaushetkestä; siitä mitä tapahtuu kun taiteilijana voi vain sujahtaa muotokieleen, värien matkaan ja viivan virtaan. Maalaaminen on
kehollinen kokemus, parhaillaan eheyttävä kokemus. Mielen puutarha saa vihdoinkin puhjeta täyteen kukkaansa!
Teokset ovat akryyli- sekä sekatekniikalla tehtyjä maalauksia MDF-levylle, sekä akvarelleja.

Kaleidoscope City is a series of graphic works I created, in which I study the details of the urban environment. I study both buildings and urban nature from different perspectives. In the works, a small detail creates a bigger story. I am particularly interested of the the art nouveau houses of Helsinki. The works are kaleidoscope-like digital works that I made from my city photographs.
As an artist, I am interested in combining different materials and ways of working. I make art with traditional and digital ways, sometimes also combining them. The main focus is strongly on media art and graphic expression. Scientific art is also of interest. I create art that studies different phenomenon by combining different art forms.

Kaleidoscope City är en serie grafiska bilder, där jag studerar detaljer från stadsmiljön. Jag använder både byggnader och stadsnatur från olika perspektiv. I konstverk skapar en liten detalj en större helhet. Jag är särskilt intresserad av jugend byggnader i Helsingfors. Bilderna är kalejdoskop liknande digitala konstverk som jag har gjort av mina stadsfotografier.
Som konstnär är jag intresserad av att kombinera olika arbetssätt. Jag gör konst med traditionella och digitala sätt och ibland kombinerar jag dem. Huvudfokus ligger starkt på mediekonst och grafisk stil. Jag är också intresserad av vetenskaplig konst. Jag gör undersökande konst som kombinerar olika konstformer.

Kaleidoscope City on luomani sarja graafisia teoksia, joissa nostan esiin urbaanin ympäristön yksityiskohtia. Tutkin niin rakennuksia kuin kaupunkiluontoa eri näkökulmista. Teoksissa pieni yksityiskohta voi luoda suuren kokonaisuuden. Erityisiä mielenkiinnonkohteita ovat olleet Helsingin jugend talot. Teokset ovat ottamistani kaupunkivalokuvista tehtyjä kaleidoskooppimaisia digiteoksia.
Taiteilijana olen kiinnostunut erilaisten työtapojen ja materiaalien yhdistämisestä. Teen taidetta perinteisin sekä digitaalisin keinoin, toisinaan myös yhdistäen niitä. Pääpaino on vahvasti mediataiteessa ja graafisessa ilmaisussa. Myös tieteellinen taide kiinnostaa. Työni ovat usein tutkivia ja monitaiteellisia.

Ylpeinä esitämme teille ainutlaatuisen valokuvanäyttelyn, joka juhlistaa valokuvaaja Juha Seilan 20-vuotista uraa musiikkikuvauksen parissa. Vizual Muzik on näyttely, joka lumoaa katsojan musiikin taikavoimalla.
Seila on onnistunut taltioimaan taiteellisesti ja herkästi konserttihetkien sielun, ja hänen valokuvissaan artistien intohimo ja musiikin voima heräävät henkiin. Näyttely koostuu valikoiduista konserttikuvasarjoista, jotka kertovat tarinaa musiikin voimasta ja sen yhteydestä taiteeseen. Voitte odottaa näkevänne upeita otoksia niin maailmanlaajuisista supertähdistä kuin kotimaan sankareistakin.
Mikä tekee tästä näyttelystä vieläkin mielenkiintoisemman, on se, että osa kuvista vaihtuu kuukauden aikana. Näin jokainen vierailu tarjoaa uusia visuaalisia elämyksiä ja yllätyksiä.
Vizual Muzik -näyttely avaa ovensa lokakuussa Kallion kirjaston Kupolisalissa. Kannattaa pysyä kuulolla, sillä avajaistilaisuudesta tiedotetaan myöhemmin. Tule siis mukaan nauttimaan musiikista ja taiteesta, jotka yhdistyvät tällä ainutlaatuisella tavalla?

Mieluiten maalaan tauluja ihmisistä arkiaskareissa ja erityisen rakkaita aiheita ovat pienet lapset. Referenssejä tauluihini olen saanut ystäviltäni ja sukulaisiltani. Myös Internetistä löytyy tekijänoikeusvapaata materiaalia. Usein henkilöön liittyy tarina, joka antaa aivan erikoisen merkityksen teokselle. Vanhimmat referenssit ovat yli 100 vuoden takaa. Maalaan taulut öljyväreillä itse tekemilleni pellavakankaisille taulupohjille.
Suoritin Aikuisten taiteen perusopinnot Wellamo-opistossa vv. 2006 – 2009 taiteilija Kaija Maunon johdolla. Jo viiden vuoden ajan olen käynyt taiteilija Susanna Judinin taidetunneilla Wellamo-opistossa. Monet kiitokset Kaijalle ja Susannalle kannustuksesta ja kullanarvoisista neuvoista!
Kansakoulun opettajani Reima Markkula kannusti aina meitä sisaruksia ryhtymään kuvataiteilijoiksi, koska ”olette perineet isältänne taitavan käden ja älkää laittako kynttiläänne vakan alle!” Näitä sanoja olen kantanut mukanani koko ikäni, vaikkakin vasta vähän yli viisikymppisenä aloin maalaamaan uudestaan. Työurani tein yläkoulun tietotekniikan, matematiikan, fysiikan ja kemian lehtorina 30 vuotta, joista 7 vuotta Pakilan yläasteella Helsingissä, 15 vuotta Ehnroosin koululla Mäntsälässä ja lopuksi 8 vuotta Salpausselän koululla Lahdessa.

In recent years, Finland has seen a rise of young AfroFinnish artists, especially in rap/hip hop, but musicians of African descent have actually been around and influential in Finnish music much longer. And, of course, many styles of “Black music” such as jazz, rock, soul and hip hop, have been played also by white Finnish musicians. We are taking a look at this Black history of Finnish music with a panel discussion that includes three musicians of African and Afro-Caribbean descent who have all influenced the Finnish music scene in their own ways. We will talk about their careers and experiences of working in the Finnish music scene, and also outside Finland. We will also discuss their views on the developments that have taken place in Finland and their views for the future.
The event will be opened with live music by Ismaila Sané and musicians from his band, Saïsba.
The panel discussion is chaired by Elina Seye, an ethnomusicologist and dance researcher affiliated with the University of Helsinki.
Entry is free, as for all Afristadi's events! This event is part of Etnosoi, and Black History Month 2023.
About the panelists
Bianca Morales is a Finnish-Cuban jazz vocalist and composer who started her singing career very young in the early 1980s and gained a lot of visibility in Finland after winning the Kevään sävel competition arranged by the Finnish MTV3 channel in 1984. Until today she has been performing jazz music especially with Grani Big Band, but she has also recorded music with other bands and played in several musicals. Apart from being well established in the Finnish jazz scene, she has strong connections to the USA.
Menard Mponda is a Tanzanian musician and dancer who has been living in Finland since 1995. He is best known in Finland as the artistic director of Fest Afrika festival, the oldest festival of African performing arts in Finland, organized in Tampere since 2002. He is also active as a teacher of traditional Tanzanian dances and drumming, which he has been teaching widely to school children. As a musician, he has been involved in several bands, such as Helsinki-Cotonou Ensemble and Arnold Chiwalala Band.
Ismaila Sané is a Senegalese musician and dancer who started his career in Dakar, Senegal, moved to Spain in the early 1980s and to Finland in 1999. He is a long-standing percussionist of Piirpauke, a Finnish world music fusion band led by Sakari Kukko, that he joined in the late 1980s when he was living in Tenerife. Both in Spain and in Finland he has collaborated with many local musicians, playing West African styles, reggae, jazz, and many kinds of fusions. He also teaches West African dances and drumming. In recent years, his main focus has been on his own Saïsba band.

Kulttuurikeskus Stoa uudistuu ja laajenee 2030-luvulla. Tavoitteemme on tehdä tila, joka on koko Itä-Helsingin ikioma ylpeyden aihe ja itähelsinkiläisen kulttuurin ja arjen keskus.
Tulevaisuuden Stoassa voit luoda, kokea, harrastaa, leikkiä, työskennellä, juhlia, oppia ja opiskella.
Koska kukaan ei tunne itää paremmin kuin sen asukkaat, kutsumme kaupunkilaiset ideoimaan, millainen yhteinen Stoamme voisi olla 2030-luvulla. Tule mukaan muodostamaan ideoiden ja toiveiden 2030°+-yhteisöteosta Stoan galleriaan 24.–29.10.2023. Osallistua voit talon aukioloaikoina eli ma-to klo 8-20, pe klo 8-18, la klo 10-16 ja su klo 12-18.
Kolmiulotteisen osallistavan teoksen Stoan galleriaan ovat suunnitelleet tutkija-taiteilijat Lauri Jäntti ja Francisco Trento sekä kuvataiteilija Anniina Lius. Teos rakentuu ja täydentyy Stoan Tulevaisuuslaboratoriossa vierailevien kaupunkilaisten ajatuksista, ideoista, haaveista, toiveista ja niiden kytköksistä.
Stoassa 24.–29.10. järjestettävässä Tulevaisuuslaboratorio-tapahtumakokonaisuudessa kaupunkilaiset rakentavat Stoan yhteistä tulevaisuusnäkymää. Tapahtumakokonaisuuteen kuuluu kaikille kaupunkilaisille avoimen 2030°+-yhteisöteoksen lisäksi eri vierailijaryhmille suunnattuja työpajoja sekä kävijöille jaettavia tehtäväpaketteja. Kertyvää tietoa hyödynnämme Stoan tulevan laajennusosan ja perusparannuksen suunnittelussa.
