Kansainvälistä pianopäivää vietetään joka vuoden 88. päivä, pianon koskettimien määrän mukaan.
Piano Day kutsuu kaikki pianon ystävät – soittajat, säveltäjät, kuuntelijat, rakentajat, opettajat, oppilaat, virittäjät, kuljettajat, ihan kaikki! – juhlistamaan tuota upeaa instrumenttia.
Pianonpäivän kunniaksi pianisti-säveltäjät Teemu Halmkrona ja Paula Präktig järjestävät pienen resitaalikonsertin Kallion kirjastossa. Konsertissa he esittävät omia pianosävellyksiään ja kertovat niistä.
Kallion kirjaston Kupolisalissa lauantaina 30.3.2024 klo 14-15. Vapaa pääsy, tervetuloa!
Teemu Halmkrona on Helsingissä asuva ammattimuusikko ja säveltäjä. Teemu tunnetaan etenkin jazz-teoksistaan, joita ovat esittäneet monet orkesterit ympäri maailmaa. Viime vuosina hän on säveltänyt myös kamarimusiikkia mm. pianolle ja huilulle. Uusin julkaisu on tammikuussa 2024 ilmestynyt single “Childhood Memories”. Teemu opettaa Länsi-Helsingin musiikkiopistossa pianoa ja kosketinsoittimia, sävellystä, sovitusta ja musiikin hahmotusaineita. Tässä harvinaisessa konsertissa yleisö pääsee kuulemaan Teemu Halmkronan sävykkäitä, vahvatunnelmaisia pianokappaleita säveltäjän itsensä tulkitsemana.
Paula Präktig on nykyään Kellokoskella asuva ammattimuusikko, pianonsoiton opettaja ja musiikintekijä. Pitkään bändeissä (mm. Gasthaus Orkesteri) aktiivinen Paula julkaisi ensimmäisen soolopianoalbuminsa vuonna 2021. Paulan musiikki on melodista ja usein mietiskelevää, ja sitä on kuvailtu elokuvalliseksi. Esiintyessään hän käyttää hienovaraisia digitaalisia live-efektejä ja preparointeja, joiden myötä pianon muutenkin rikas äänimaailma laajenee entisestään, lähestyen mielikuvituksellisia sfäärejä. Uusimman singlen ‘Halla’ julkaisee saksalainen levy-yhtiö Leiter, osana Piano Day 2024 -kokoelmalevyä.

In honor of Piano Day, pianist-composers Teemu Halmkrona and Paula Präktig are organizing a small recital concert at Kallio Library. In the concert, they will perform their own piano compositions and share insights on their work.

Teemu Halmkrona is a professional musician and composer based in Helsinki. Teemu is particularly known for his jazz compositions, which have been performed by many orchestras worldwide. In recent years, he has also composed chamber music for piano and flute, among other instruments. His latest release is the single \"Childhood Memories,\" released in January 2024. Teemu teaches piano and other keyboard instruments, composition, arrangement, and music theory at the Western Helsinki Music Institute. In this rare concert, the audience will have the opportunity to hear Teemu Halmkrona's expressive and atmospheric piano pieces interpreted by the composer himself.
Paula Präktig is a professional musician, piano teacher, and composer currently residing in Kellokoski. A long-time active member of bands (including Gasthaus Orkesteri), Paula released her first solo piano album in 2021. Paula's melodic and often contemplative music has been described as cinematic. In her performances, she employs subtle digital live effects and preparations, expanding the already rich sound world of the piano, approaching imaginative realms. Her latest single 'Halla' will be released by the German record label Leiter as part of the Piano Day 2024 compilation album.

Paljon toivotut ukulelen alkeet Ison Omenan kirjastossa! Kurssi on suunnattu aikuisille ja nuorille 12 vuodesta ylöspäin. Tunneilla käymme läpi soittamisen perusteet. Tähän kuuluu soittoasento, soinnut ja komppaaminen. Tunneilla soitamme suomen- ja englanninkielisiä lauluja. Ryhmässä rentous, välitön tunnelma ja yhteisöllisyys ovat tärkeitä asioita. Aikaisempaa musiikillista osaamista tai taustaa ei vaadita. Kirjastolla on lainasoittimia tunnin ajaksi. Tule mukaan!

Ukulele class for beginners in Iso Omena Library. Class is for adults and youth 12 years or older. No previous musical experience required. Relaxing atmosphere and communality are important values of the group. The library has ukuleles which you can borrow for the lesson. Participation is free of charge and no pre-registration is needed.
Class is organized from 25th of Jan to 16th of May.
No class on 22nd of Feb, 28th of March, and 9th of May.
