Itäkeskuksen kirjasto järjestää Zineton-viikonloppuna pop up -pienlehtipajan. Käytössäsi on mm. skanneri, kuvankäsittelyohjelmia (Gimp, Photoshop C6), paperileikkuri, kopiokone sekä kierrätysmateriaaleja (mm. poistokirjoja ja -lehtiä) oman zinesi toteutukseen.
Paja on avoinna lauantaina klo 10-16 ja sunnuntaina klo 12-18. Voit piipahtaa paikalla hetken, tai työstää lehteäsi pajalla vaikka koko päivän. Kirjastossa on esillä edellisvuosien Zineton -haasteiden satoa ja muuta teemaan liittyvää aineistoa, josta voit hakea inspiraatiota omaan lehteesi!
Osallistujille on varattu myös rajallinen määrä ilmaisia tulosteita. Kiintiön täyttyessä tulosteiden hinta on 0,40 € / A4-liuska.

Workshop materials:

Länsiafrikkalainen tanssi on iloista, energistä ja vauhdikasta. Se kohottaa kuntoa kuin huomaamatta sekä kehittää rytmitajua, keskittymistä ja koordinaatiokykyä. Liikekieli on kokonaisvaltaista ja liikeradat laajoja. Vuorovaikutus elävän musiikin kanssa antaa energiaa ja tuo tanssimiseen tunnelmaa!
Tunnit sisältävät alkulämmittelyn sekä tutustumista länsiafrikkalaiseen rytmiikkaan ja liikekieleen. Opit myös pienen koreografian. Lopuksi tehdään palauttava ja rentouttava loppuvenyttely.
Tunnit sopivat kaikille: voit tulla joko tutustumaan lajiin, tai konkarina ottamaan rennon varaslähdön alkavaan tanssisyksyyn!

Västafrikansk dans är glad, energisk och fartfylld! Klasserna innehåller uppvärmning och introduktion till västafrikanska rytmer och rörelsespråk. Du kommer också att få lära dig en liten koreografi.
Vi avslutar med stretching för återhämtning och avslappning.
Klasserna är lämpliga för alla: om du är nybörjare, kom och bekanta dig med dansstilen, eller om du är veteran, ta en tjuvstart till danshösten under avslappnade former!

Come and explore West African dances and get some exercise to the beat of live rhythms on the last weekdays of August at Sitratori square in Kannelmäki!
West African dance is cheerful, energetic and fast-paced. The classes include a warm-up session and introduction to West African rhythm and movement. You also learn a short choreography. The class ends with relaxing and restorative stretches.
The classes are suitable for everyone: you can come as a beginner to explore a new dance, or with previous experience to get a laid-back early start to the autumn of dance!
Free admission; in case of rain we dance under the canopy. Bring a casual dance outfit, a gym towel and a bottle of water.

J. S. Bachin sellosarjojen ja Paul Hindemithin soolosonaatin väliin mahtuu 200 vuotta, joiden aikana musiikki ja maailma muuttuivat paljon.
Vaikka teokset ovat luonteeltaan hyvin erilaisia, niiden välillä on selkeä yhteys: jotakin, joka puhuttelee huippusellisti Leonardo Chiodoa.
Konsertissa kuullaan J. S. Bachin sellosarja no. 1 G-duurissa ja Paul Hindemithin op. 25 no. 3, sonaatti soolosellolle.

Villi Akka började som ett projekt 2014 baserat på urtypen för den vilda kvinnan och representationen av icke-manliga karaktärer i sagor, myter, historieberättande och skriftlig tradition. Sedan dess har det vuxit och blivit mer självständigt.
Kemê (hon/henne/Kemê) är en mångfacetterad artist, poet och kulturarbetare med bas i Helsingfors, där hon även blivit en katt, en planta och en mänsklig mamma som strävar efter att bli en god anmoder och som därför alltid vill lära sig något nytt.

Villi Akka is about recovering intuition and instinct around multiple identities, empowering ourselves, embracing community and celebrating our ambiguities (and weirdness.)
The Villi Akka's Comb is so objectual as it is an interspace for reconnection with myths as an open source. Streaks of multidisciplinary art and fictional narratives get tangled, bridging traditions, identities, community and intersectional feminism.
We could hope that brushing through texts, photography, embroidery, illustration, mixed media, and many circles* will result in a groomed head and clear face; however, the process is a spell we strengthen by repetition.
Villi Akka started as a project in 2014 based on the wild woman' archetype and the representation of non-male characters in tales, myths, storytelling and written tradition. Since then, it has been growing and gaining independence.
Kemê (she/her/Kemê) is a multidisciplinary artist, poet and culture
worker based in Helsinki, where she has also become a cat, plant and human mama striving to become a good ancestor, therefore, always learning.

The listener first collects a map entitled \"Adventures in White Privilege\" from the brochure stand next to the info desk on the first floor of Oodi Central Library. The map includes a QR code that can be scanned with a smartphone, which will open a link where the audiopiece can be either streamed or downloaded. The listener can then hear the track through headphones and follow the directions of the audio and the map.
For potential listeners who require the loan of headphones and/or mp3 player to access the piece, there will be a small number available on request at the info desk.
The piece is free of charge and will be launched at 15.00 on 24.09.23 and will be available at any time during Oodi's opening hours until 24.10.23.
The piece is in English, though transcripts in Finnish will be available soon.

Klo 11.00 Tahtipeikon Satumainen lastenlaulukonsertti ja naamiaiset
Tahtipeikon konsertti on suunnattu alakouluikäisille ja alle kouluikäisille vanhempineen. Teemana on luonto ja sen monimuotoisuus: voit halutessasi pukeutua joksikin eläimeksi (tai miksi ei kasviksikin). Kaikki naamiaisasussa konserttiin tulevat saavat tikkarin. Konsertin lopussa on asukilpailu, jonka voittaja saa kirjapalkinnon.

Teokset heijastelevat ajatuksiani valkoisen värin ja kontrollin suhteesta, sekä huomiotani siitä, miten arkkitehtuuria voidaan käyttää korostamaan sukupuoli ja luokkaeroja. Kim Kardashianin kartanon sisutukseen kuuluu lukuisa valkoisia taideteoksia nimekkäiltä kuvataiteilijoilta ja modernintaiteen isiltä. Olen teoksissani pohtinut millaisia väripaletteja ja kuvan rakentamisen keinoja voin maalatessani käyttää, jotta teoksillani voisi olla mahdollisuus tulla kuratoiduiksi Kardashianin kartanoon.
White illusion The interiors and monochromatic color palette depicted in this exhibition are inspired by Kim Kardashian’s white million-dollar mansion. The mansion featured in Vogue is like staged set reflecting perfect upper-class home. However, most of the mansion’s spaces are not suitable for living and everyday purposes unless a dedicated housewife or a substantial staff maintains its pristine appearance around the clock. The works reflect my thoughts on the relationship between the color white and control, as well as my observations on how architecture can be used to emphasize gender and class differences. Kim Kardashian’s mansion’s interior includes numerous white artworks from renowned visual artists and fathers of modern art. In my works, I have pondered color pallettes and how to compose a painting, so that my art works could potentially be curated for the Kardashian mansion

Kaikki maalaukseni ovat ekspressiivisiä tulkintoja, joiden esikuvia on turha etsiä todellisuudesta tai luonnosta. Kasvien runsaus vie mielikuvamatkalle sinne, missä lämpimät tuulet puhaltavat ja kukat kukkivat, keskelle luonnon ja elämän monimuotoisuutta ja runsautta. Kasvohahmot haastavat sisäiseen dialogiin. All my paintings are expressive interpretations; there is no need to look for examples in reality or nature. The abundance of plants is a mental journey to where warm winds blow and flowers bloom as the diversity and abundance of nature and life offer us. The characters are a challenge to engage in an internal dialogue. I hope you will surrender to your own feelings and storie. The paintings of the exhibition change.

Mina målningar är uttrycksfulla tolkningar som man inte behöver leta efter i verkligheten eller i naturen. Överflöd av växter tar dig med på en mental resa där de varma vindarna blåser och blommorna blommar, mitt i naturens och livets mångfald och överflöd. Ansikts figurerna utmanar deltagarna i en intern dialog. Jag hoppas att du överlämnar dig till din egen känsla och din historia. Målningar in utstälningen förändras.

Until now remediation of these sites has been troublesome and inefficient because it has required a lot of energy and usually complex chemicals. With new technologies that utilize synthetic biology, remediation will be easier and more efficient.
Bioremediation can be used for multiple remediation sites both on land and in water. Both Finnish iGEM teams try to bioremediate waters: ABOA from toxic methylmercury and Aalto-Helsinki from microplastics.
