Näiden kokemusten pohjalta syntyi kirja, Syövästä löytyi elämän tarkoitus (2025). Kirjan tekoa ovat tukeneet Syöpäsäätiö ja Kymenlaakson syöpäyhdistys.</p><p>Kaartoaho kertoo vierailunsa aikana, miten syöpädiagnoosi on muuttanut hänen suhtautumistaan elämään. Kaartoaho on kokenut sairautensa mahdollisuutena katsoa itseään sisältäpäin sekä muuttaa ajatuksia ja mielikuvia myönteisiksi. Puhetta on myös ulosteenkarkailusta, joka jäi syöpähoitojen jälkeen muuttamaan elämän muutenkin täysin. Esityksessä kuullaan myös hänen kohtaamistaan ihmisistä, jotka ovat edistäneet kirjan syntyprosessia. </p><p>Kirjoja on tapahtumassa myytävänä. Kirjailijapalkkio menee syöpätutkimukseen.</p>",
"sv": "<p>Mervi Kaartoaho, 63, är en erfarenhetsförfattare som har funnit livsglädje mitt i sjukdom.</p><p>Mervi Kaartoaho från Iitti har genomgått svåra cancerbehandlingar. Utifrån dessa erfarenheter skrev hon boken ”Syövästä löytyi elämän tarkoitus” (2025). Arbetet har fått stöd av Cancerstiftelsen och Kymmenedalens cancerförening.</p><p>Under sitt besök berättar Kaartoaho hur en cancerdiagnos förändrade hennes syn på livet. Hon har upplevt sin sjukdom som en möjlighet att se inåt och omvandla sina tankar och föreställningar till något positivt. Hon talar också om avföringsinkontinens, som kvarstod efter behandlingarna och förändrade hennes vardag i grunden. I presentationen får vi även höra om de människor som bidrog till bokens tillkomst.</p><p>Boken finns till försäljning under evenemanget. Författararvodet går till cancerforskning.</p>",
