"fi": "<p>Marika Halosen valokuvissa ruma ja rikkinäinen todellisuus kohtaa taiteilijan rakentamat pilvilinnat. Kuvissa näkyy romua ja roskia ja kaiken yllä leijailee ihana värisavu, joka on kuin liikkuva ajatus, jota ei voi ennakoida.</p><p>“Punainen värisavu purkautuu ulos pienestä metallisesta purkista muodostaen pilven kaltaisen alati muuttuvan muodon. Katson sitä kameran etsimen läpi ja yritän tallentaa näkemääni nopeasti ennen kuin se katoaa. Parin minuutin ajan se tanssii silmieni edessä, liikkuen yhä laajemmalle alueelle. Samalla tumma punainen liukuu kohti vaaleampia värisävyjä. Suurimman osan aikaa se on ihanan vaaleanpunainen. Tuuli näyttää sille suunnan, sitä ei voi kontrolloida. Voin vain laittaa alulle tämän tapahtumaketjun mutten määrätä sen lopullisesta koreografiasta.</p><p>Näistä katoavista hetkistä syntyy valokuvia, joihin tallentuu sekä savu että maisema. Kuvissani on käynnissä spektaakkeli, mutta yleisö ei ole paikalla. Ne ovat kameralle rakennettuja esityksiä, hetkellisiä utopioita, pilvilinnoja. Valokuvani paikantuvat asutuksien reuna-alueille, moderneille raunioille tai hylättyihin rakennuksiin. Näistä tyhjistä tiloista käsin työstän utopiaani. Esitykseni avulla performoin nykyhetkeen katkoksen ja sen avulla maisema muuttuu toiseksi, paikaksi, jota ei ole.</p><p>Olen käyttänyt savupommeja valokuvateoksissani vuodesta 2014 lähtien. Aluksi kuvasin niitä metsissä, kallioilla ja rannoilla, sittemmin joutomaa-alueet ja hylättyjen rakennusten rauniot löysivät tiensä savuperformanssieni näyttämöiksi. Ne tuntuivat kuuluvan yhteen ja tuntuvat siltä yhä. Valokuvissani ruma ja rikkinäinen todellisuus kohtaa rakentamani pilvilinnat. Kuvissa näkyy romua ja roskia ja kaiken yllä leijailee ihana värisavu, joka on kuin liikkuva ajatus, jota ei voi ennakoida\", Marika kertoo.</p><p><b>Marika Halonen</b> on Turun Taideakatemiasta valmistunut Helsinkiläinen kuvataiteilija. Halosen työskentelyssä intuitiolla ja sattumalla on suuri rooli. Prosessiin kuuluu olennaisesti myös seikkailu: etsiminen ja löytäminen. I follow it through the camera and try to record what I see quickly before it disappears. For a couple of minutes, it dances in front of my eyes, moving into an ever-widening area. At the same time, dark red slides toward lighter shades of color. Most of the time it is amazingly pink. With a smoke bomb, you can never know how it behaves. It flies with the wind, it cannot be controlled.<br> <br>I use my camera to capture these vanishing moments. When I shoot smoke bombs, I create an illusion in a real physical place. They are performances built for the camera, momentary utopias, cloud castles. Color smoke transforms landscape for a moment into another reality where something incomprehensible is going on. But it only takes a moment and is gone in a couple of minutes. My photos are located on forgotten places, in modern ruins or in an abandoned buildings. With my performance, I perform a break into the present moment and it transforms the landscape into another place, a place that does not exist.</p><p>I have been using smoke bombs in my photo works since 2014. At first I photographed them in forests, cliffs and beaches, then wasteland areas and the ruins of abandoned buildings found their way into the stages of my smoke performances. They seemed to belong together and still still feel that way. In my photos, ugly and broken reality meets the cloud castles I build. In the pictures, you can see scrap and garbage, and above everything floats a wonderful colored smoke, which is like a moving thought that cannot be predicted”, the artist tells.</p><p>Marika Halonen is a visual artist from Helsinki who graduated from the Turku Academy of Arts. Intuition play a big role in Halonen's work. The process also essentially includes adventure: searching and finding. It is constant experimentation, improvisation, being at the mercy of the weather, tolerating uncertainty.</p><p>Free entry. The exhibition opening will be held on October 2nd at 5 PM.
