Vapaa pääsy, tervetuloa!</p><p>A sense of something left unfinished.<br>Not abandoned, but lingering — echoes and fragments of forgotten narratives drifting toward one another, forming new constellations.</p><p>Boiler Rooms of the Imagination -tilainstallaatio kutsuu kävijät maailmaan, jossa teknologinen nostalgia ja mielikuvitus antavat uuden elämän unohdetuille koneille ja kuvitelluille keksinnöille. Teollisen perinnön ja vaihtoehtoisten tulevaisuuksien estetiikasta ammentava, elämyksellinen tila tutkii muutoksen, muiston ja rappion kauneutta.</p><p>Steampunkin visuaaliseen kieleen nojaava Boiler Rooms of the Imagination kuvittelee vaihtoehtoisia historioita ja mahdottomia keksintöjä. Kierrätysmateriaaleista valmistetut monimutkaiset koneet sulautuvat orgaanisiin muotoihin luoden tilan, joka tuntuu sekä tutulta että vieraalta. Teoksissa näkyy käsityöläisyyden arvostus ja usko keskeneräisiin, epäonnistuneisiin tai unohtuneisiin keksintöihin — tulevaisuuksiin, jotka eivät koskaan toteutuneet mutta jotka yhä elävät näissä koneissa.</p><p>Veikko \"Rudi\" Ruuskanen on 68-vuotias omaehtoinen taiteilija, jonka työ keskittyy kierrätysmateriaalien muuntamiseen veistoksellisiksi ympäristöiksi ja installaatioiksi. Ilmaisua on muovannut vuosikymmenten kokemus äänen ja valon parissa. Vanhat tehdasmiljööt, pannuhuoneet, putket ja mittarit toimivat toistuvina lähtökohtina, kun taas kuvataiteilijoiden Jani Hännisen ja Elina Merenmiehen työ on vaikuttanut hänen visuaalisen kielensä kehittymiseen.<br>Ruuskanen edustaa ITE-taiteen ydintä: omaehtoista, instituutioiden ulkopuolella syntynyttä ilmaisua, jossa elämänkokemus ja tekemisen ilo näkyvät suoraan teoksissa.</p><p>Lähes kahdenkymmenen vuoden ajan Ruuskanen on luonut joulu- ja halloween-installaatioita lähialueiden perheille sekä somistanut Tapanilassa Tilauskonditoria Mayran näyteikkunaa vuosien ajan.</p><p>Taiteilija on tavattavissa näyttelyn avajaisissa ke 23.9. klo 17–19 sekä la 26.9. klo 12–18, jolloin taiteilija soittaa Malmitalon galleriassa DJ-setin.</p>",

Inspired by the aesthetics of industrial heritage and forgotten technologies, this immersive space explores the beauty of transformation, memory and decay.</p><p>Drawing from the visual language of steampunk, Boiler Rooms of the Imagination pictures alternative histories and impossible inventions. Rusted surfaces, intricate machinery and dreamlike structures merge with organic forms, creating a space that feels both familiar and otherworldly. Together, the works celebrate craftsmanship, curiosity, and the strange comfort of technologies that led nowhere — a tribute to futures imagined, abandoned, and quietly kept alive.</p><p>Veikko \"Rudi\" Ruuskanen (b. 1950s) is a Finnish self-taught (ITE) artist whose practice centres on the transformation of reclaimed materials into sculptural environments and installations, shaped by decades of work in sound and lighting. Influenced by the aesthetic qualities of vintage machinery, industrial infrastructure and forgotten technologies, he explores the meeting point of imagination, memory and material culture. Old factory interiors, boiler rooms, pipes and measuring instruments serve as recurring points of departure, while the work of Finnish artists Jani Hänninen and Elina Merenmies has informed the development of his atmospheric visual language.</p><p>For nearly twenty years, Ruuskanen has also created immersive Christmas and Halloween installations for local communities, alongside his window displays for Tilauskonditoria Mayra in Tapanila.</p>"
